A Philippine Zip Code is a four-digit number that has two parts. In Metro Manila, a barangay within the city or city district, and outside of Metro Manila, a municipality or city. Multiple zip codes are issued in areas within Metro Manila, while provincial areas are issued with one zip code for each municipality or city, with the exceptions of few like Los Baños (Laguna), Dasmariñas (Cavite), and Angeles (Pampanga).
By using ZIP codes, mails and packages can be processed and sorted faster in the post office, which can benefit both the sender and the receiver.
